Oceans of Energy
Offshore Floating Solar
LAND SPACE IS SCARCE
Solar panels are the most successful system for harvesting renewable energy. Today solar panels are installed on land or at inshore waters. But land space and inshore waters are scarce and the competition for the use of it is increasing every day. Because more people on the planet need more space to live, feed and grow.
OCEAN SPACE IS ENDLESS
Space on the oceans is endless. That is why we decided to take solar panels offshore and are building the first floating solar farm in the world. The first offshore floating solar farm will be in operation in 2020 off the coast of Scheveningen, the Netherlands. And there will be more to come. Because at Oceans of Energy we believe the future lies at sea.
IDEAL FOR REMOTE ISLANDS
The Oceans of Energy offshore floating solar system is ideal for remote islands where polluting and expensive diesel generators are used as the main source of energy. Our offshore floating solar system is clean, less expensive than diesel generators and needs no daily filling up.
PERFECT FOR CROWDED COASTAL AREAS
For crowded coastal areas that have no space left on land, our offshore floating solar system is perfect. And if the sea is already covered with large fields of offshore wind farms we can simply place the offshore floating solar farms in between the wind turbines. This way, we even generate five times more energy in the same area.
