We had the honour of welcoming a high-level delegation from Taiwan – including government officials and leading research institutes – to our headquarters and port location (in the Netherlands).

Taiwan’s Pathway and Strategy Plan for Net-Zero Transition, launched in 2022, outlines ambitious targets for wind, solar, and hydrogen. With 31 GW of solar power targeted by 2030, and 40 to 80 GW by 2050, floating PV – particularly within offshore wind farms – is set to play a vital role in this roadmap.

We were inspired by Taiwan’s clear ambition and strong interest in establishing a structured approach to the rollout for offshore solar. Together, we explored opportunities for joint research projects, commercial partnerships, and how Oceans of Energy could contribute to this exciting journey.

At the port of Amsterdam, the delegation visited our floaters – soon to be deployed for the world’s first offshore solar farm in high wave conditions, co-located within the operational Hollandse Kust Noord wind farm, operated by CrossWind.

Inspiring conversations, new friendships, and a strong step forward in global collaboration on offshore solar energy.
